This is a Marlin Model 93 carbine in 30-30 caliber manufactured approximately 1930. This gun may be unfired. The case coloring is simply breathtaking. The receiver retains 98% of its original vivid case colors. It looks brand new. The lever exhibits some silvering on the bottom but retains vivid colors on the sides. The wood retains 100% of its original varnish and remains as new. The nicely figured walnut has aged to a beautiful golden patina. The blueing on the barrel and magazine is as flawless as one can expect for a gun of this age. The buttplate retains 90% of the original blue with some wear on the high points only. Screws are perfect. Bore is perfect. This gun is as fine an example of a Marlin Model 93 that you will find. The period of US gun manufacturing prior to WW2 saw unparalled craftsmanship in fit and finish. Advances in manufacturing combined with experienced and very skilled craftsman to produce the finest quality mass produced firearms in US history. Even entry level guns made for the common man were exceptional in quality.  I have owned this carbine for many years and no other gun in my collection has gotten the oohs and aahhs that this one does when I pull it out of the safe. These Marlins are a bargain in the world of arms collecting and sure to continue to gain value as time passes. One in this condition is rare. FFl or C&R required.
