SOLD – Here is an original US model 1943 field jacket in excellent condition. It has an original English made 48 star US flag arm patch which were made for the invasion of Normandy. On the left arm is a high quality 2nd Armored Division (Hell on Wheels) patch. The 2nd Armored landed on Omaha Beach 2 days after the original assault and participated in the invasion of France and then the Netherlands, eventually reaching Germany.
The original makers label is gone and the jacket is stamped 38 L. I am a size 44 though and the jacket fits me. I would say it wears more like a 42 R.
The patches alone are worth $40-50. If you are looking for an authentic M1943 jacket which was likely worn by a US soldier in the European theatre after the D-Day invasion you will be pleased with this example. A steal at $75.00.
